Hi Waves Families,

Did you know our swim team has elections, just like a mini-democracy in action? It's true! And they're right around the corner, happening the second week of July.

Every year, several spots on our Swim Team Committee open up. This keeps things fair and gives everyone a chance to get involved and help shape our team's success. This year, we have three key positions up for election or re-election, each serving a two-year term starting in August and running through September of 2027.

Member at Large - Equipment (2025-2027 Term)

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes! The current incumbent is not challenging this seat, so it's wide open for a new face.

If you're elected, you'll be responsible for:

 * Maintaining all team equipment throughout the season.

 * Transporting equipment to away meets.

 * Keeping our shed and storage unit organized and tidy.

 * Either leading the Deck Set crew (getting everything ready for meets) or appointing someone to do so.

 * Attending monthly committee meetings.

Member at Large - Sponsorship & Awards (2025-2027 Term)

Do you love connecting with people and celebrating achievements? This role is perfect for you! You'll be vital in building community and recognizing our swimmers.

Responsibilities include:

 * Cultivating partnerships with local businesses to secure sponsorships and boost our visibility.

 * Coordinating and promoting fundraising and community-building events like spirit nights, pep rallies, and team-building activities.

 * Planning and organizing our season-ending awards banquet, including medals and recognition for our team and coaches.

 * Maintaining consistent communication with families, sponsors, and board members through weekly emails and social media.

 * Organizing Senior Banners and Senior Gifts for our graduating swimmers.

 * Advertising sponsor and senior banners at pep rallies and home meets, and taking them down afterward.

 * Attending monthly board meetings to strategize pre- and post-season events.

Member at Large - Concessions (2025-2027 Term) Megan Berryhill has already said she would like to run for this position. 

Are you a culinary wizard or a master of organization? Take the lead on our concessions stand! This role is crucial for keeping our swimmers and fans fueled.

Key duties include:

 * Leading and coordinating the concessions team at all Waves Home Events.

 * Cultivating partnerships with local restaurants for food sponsorships.

 * Creating the concessions menu and pricing for board approval, and overseeing ordering.

 * Overseeing the setup and takedown of concessions.

 * Attending monthly board meetings to strategize pre- and post-season events.
