Today felt like the perfect snapshot of who we are, a team that shows up with heart, grit, and joy no matter what the weather decides to throw at us. The air may have been chilly, but our swimmers turned that pool into a furnace. Every race was electric, every cheer was louder than the last, and every kid reminded us why the Waves are truly something special. And because Waves can never do anything halfway, we didn’t just break one record… not two… but THREE RECORDS in a single day.

Let’s give the biggest, loudest Waves cheer for our record breakers:

Even though we couldn’t quite catch the other teams in the final standings —

We were the smallest team with the biggest heart. And that heart showed in every cheer, every swim, every relay exchange, every kid who stepped up, and every parent who stood on the deck and still yelled like their swimmer was winning the Olympics.

Now… let’s talk volunteers. And I’m not holding back, because you deserve a full standing ovation, a parade, and probably your own Olympic podium.

Our volunteers aren’t just “helping out.” You are the lifeblood of this team. You are the reason meets happen, the reason swimmers feel supported, the reason parents stay sane, and the reason the Waves run like a well‑oiled (and occasionally chaotic) machine.

You show up early. You stay late. You time in all weather. You tent‑parent like you’re managing a small nation. You organize heat sheets, wrangle swimmers, track goggles, soothe nerves, hype kids, and somehow still find time to cheer like your voice is powered by pure adrenaline.

You haul equipment. You fix problems before anyone even knows they existed. You sprint across the deck with clipboards like it’s a sport of its own. You do a thousand invisible acts of kindness that make this team feel like home.

You are the calm in the chaos. You are the joy behind the cheers. You are the heartbeat of the Waves.

And here’s the truth: we absolutely, positively, 100% could not do ANY of this without you. Not the meets. Not the magic. Not the memories. Not the record‑breaking swims. You make all of it possible.

So this week, and every week, ALL of you get the top spot. Every volunteer. Every role. Every moment. You are extraordinary, and we are endlessly grateful.
